Biggles Events

In spite of the name, gen prompts and fills are completely fine! This is an "anything goes" prompting meme for February.

See our previous prompt posts to see how these have worked in the past. These are based off threesentenceficathon and similar DW prompting events.

I'm not going to get too restrictive with rules; this is a low-pressure, free-for-all fest, and the past ones have gone fine!

* Please warn in the subject line if your prompt or fill contains any of the AO3 content warnings.

* You can include DNWs in a prompt if there's something you don't want to see in a fill - please respect these, if there are any - but also, fills are not generally considered gifts for the person who left the prompt, which means a) you have no obligation to comment on or read a fill for a prompt you left, and b) you leave prompts knowing they might be used as general inspiration, and fills might not adhere closely to the prompt.

* It is fine to comment on other people's prompts with questions or encouragement.

* You can fill your own prompt, and multiple fills for the same prompt are fine too. So is using someone else's prompt as inspiration for your own. More cakes!

* You can leave as many prompts as you like (one per comment, please!), with no obligation to fill any. You can also fill prompts without having left one.

* You can crosspost your fills elsewhere, including to AO3 or your own space.

* Anon is on, and anonymous prompts and fills are fine. (I'll turn it off if anyone abuses it.)

This fest will be open for prompts throughout the month of February, and for fills at any time. Go forth, prompt, fill, and have fun!

Authors are now revealed, so you can link to your fic, repost it, and talk about it wherever you like. We had a really great exchange this year - with 24 fics for only 12 people signed up, everyone wrote their hearts out!

I hope the whole fandom had a great time, and I look forward to seeing as many of you as possible back next year for Biggles Holiday Airdrop 2026.

We are past the deadline, and every gift is either turned in, or the creator has an extension. We are looking good for reveals on Jan. 21 (Wednesday).

In the meantime, you can polish your gift, work on treats, or simply relax and look forward to the reading ahead of us!

We still have a lot of Airdrop fics out and a couple of extension requests, so to give everyone some breathing room and make the whole experience (hopefully) less stressful, we have decided to move the Airdrop deadline ahead by a week!

The new deadline is Fri, Jan. 16, 23:00 UTC. All other deadlines for reveals, etc. will move forward by a week from their present dates as well.

2025 AO3 Collection | Signup Page | Tagset

The tagset has been preloaded with individual character tags for the main characters as well as relationships that are commonly requested in exchanges. For anything you want that's not in there already, feel free to add it! (I've given everyone a ton of nomination slots, so you shouldn't have any problems running out, but I can also add tags for you if you like!) Tags will need to be approved by the mods, so there'll be a bit of a delay while that happens.

A few tagset notes:

* In this exchange, "Character & Anyone" is the way to request a character on their own; this could be interacting with other canon characters, OCs, animals, or just a character study of the character alone. Basically treat it like the "Solo: Character" tag in some other exchanges.

* You can also request "Character/Anyone" or (probably more recommended) narrower variants such as "Erich von Stalhein/Any Male Character."

* For the "anyone" tags, it's okay to DNW individual characters in your signup, e.g. you can request Erich/Any Male Character but DNW Zorotov and Fritz.

* You can also request groups in general, such as "Erich von Stalhein & Any SAP" or "Any Member(s) of 666 Squadron" or "Erich von Stalhein & Any Member(s) of Biggles's Family". For those requests, any one or more members of the requested group will be acceptable.

Go forth, sign up, and please let me know right away if you have any questions or problems! Signups will close a week from today, next Friday, and assignments will go out by Saturday evening if not sooner.

Hello, Biggles people, we are running again for 2025!

Dates I'm tentatively looking at, based on past years:

- Signups in early November, say Nov. 3-10, something like that?
- Deadlines in early January, around the 5th or so

If either of these wouldn't work for you, please let me know! We could also do reveals in mid-December, so we could enjoy the holiday fics during the holiday season, but I can't do signups any earlier than the first week in November, so it'd only be about a month's writing time.

Adding other fanwork types increases the difficulty of setting up and matching the exchange, so please only vote for it if there's a decent chance you'd request and/or offer it, or if you have particularly strong feelings about it. (I'm fine adding, say, art, if some artists want to join in - I'd hate to exclude them! - but it is easier to run as a single-medium exchange.)
